Hong Kong

Hong Kong is just brilliant, a welcome break from mainland China.
Most people speak English and transport is easy.

Get your Chinese visa here if you want to extend or get a new one.

Get into the countryside or to the islands. Hong Kong is not just about high-rise buildings.

Take the tram on Hong Kong island, it's cheap at HK$ 2 a ride.
For a country trip take the tram from Central to Shau Kei Wan
Take bus No. 14 to Stanley and walk around the market
Take Bus No. 73 to Rerpulse Bay and then Aberdeen.
Take a Sampan tour of the harbour.
Take any bus signedf for Central and you're back.
Take the ferry across Victoria Harbour. Cheap and great views.

Watch out for dodgy electronics shops in Kowloon.

Get an Octopus card for the metro and busses, stops the pain of having to have exact change for the bus. You buy a stored value card with a HK$50 deposit which you get back with your unused money when you're finished.

Many restaurants and shops are on the upper floors of builds. Don't go around Hong Kong only looking at street level as you'll miss out on loads.

Walk the markets in Mongkok.
