We think you should pay a little more and get a guided tour of the Kremlin. We had to when we were there a they because of a security issue but it was so worth it. Our guide told us so many things we would never have read from a guide book.

If you want to send any parcels from Russia, allocate many hours as it's a frustrating process.

Definately have a phrase book as most people don't understand English and you'll at least be able to point to train and they can show you where to do.

Get a multi-trip ticket for the metro as its cheaper and easier to use.

Do a tour of the metro and see some of the amazing stations.
